- Eliminated Styrofoam usage
- Conference schedules, menus, contracts, etc. communicated via email
- Battery and light bulb recycle program
- Single stream recycling program
- Implement environmental policy training for new hire orientation
- Created an employee green suggestion of the quarter award
- Participate with Clean the World donating used amenities and soaps (http://www.cleantheworld.org/)
Administration
- Review all paper products purchased to maintain a 30% recycle content
- Discuss with suppliers recyclable packaging
- Contact Suppliers to maintain Environment Policy adherence
Meetings & Conference Rooms
- A programmable energy management system which automatically controls the temperature in occupied/unoccupied rooms
- Dimmer controls in meeting rooms
- Over 75% of lighting in conference/meeting rooms use higher efficiency bulbs
- Staff sort and properly dispose of meeting room trash bins
Housekeeping
- Implemented in-room terry and linen program
- Housekeeping sort recyclables from trash bins
- Housekeeping uses natural light when cleaning guestrooms
- Recycle Program for used bar soap
Food & Beverage
- 25 – 50% of paper products used by servers have a minimum of 30% recycled content
- 50 – 90% of lighting in restaurant and services area use energy efficient light bulbs
- 25 – 50% of product packaging is recycled
Maintenance/Engineering
- Review for environmentally safe chemicals
- Control heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems
- Over 75% of hot-water pipes are properly insulated
- Low-flow showerheads have been installed in all guestrooms
- All guestrooms have been equipped with low-flow toilets
